MATTHEW KIBEL – PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Hello, my name is Matthew “Kibel” Kibel and I am so excited to be your Program Director for the summer of 2024! This will be my 4th summer as a Biluim staff member and my 12 year at CYJ! When I'm at camp you can find me hosting a reading circle in a gazebo, listening to music in the shmira tent, or just hanging out around the mahal. When I'm not at camp I am molding the minds of the youth as a substitute teacher. Over the years I have been at Biluim it has become my home away from home, and I cannot wait for the campers of 2024 to make this place their home as well. I am already counting down the days until the summer of 2024, because I know it is going to be the BSE!
evan weissberger – HEAD OF PROGRAMMING
I'm Evan Weissberger, and I'm so excited to be returning as the Head of Programming for the summer of 2024! This will be my fourth year as a staff member at Biluim. Camp is the place where I feel like I can be the most creative and have the most fun. There's never a dull moment, and there are always new things to try, and new things to discover about yourself. I can't wait to work with our incredible head staff team to make this the best summer this camp has ever seen! In the city, I study Media Production at Toronto Metropolitan University. I work on a bunch of projects with my friends, like a comedy sketch show and an award-winning radio show. I love spending time in nature, listening to music, and cooking! But let's be real, camp is the most important thing out of all those. See you in the BSE!!!!!!!
Maya ziskind - Head of CAMPER CARE
Hey Biluim!! My name is Maya and I can’t wait to be your Head of Camper Care for the summer of 2024! I was a Biluim camper in 2018 and returned in 2022 as a staff. Biluim is one of the most amazing places on earth and to me, it has always felt like home. My favourite parts of camp are Rikkud and Shira on Shabbat and Hadracha! I love beading on the chof, listening to and playing music with friends and stargazing at the tennis courts. When I’m not at camp, I’m counting down the days until I get to go back! But I also am completing a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Media and Communication at the University of Guelph-Humber. I can’t wait to meet you all this summer at my favourite place!!! It’s going to be the BSE!!!!
ALAN Nemirovski - head OF CAMPER CARE
Hi Biluim! My name is Alan, and I’m really excited to be your Head of Camper Care for the summer of 2024! I’ve been going to camp for 5 years as a camper, and although I wasn't a Biluim camper, I quickly felt right at home when I first came here as a counsellor three summers ago. Camp is really special to me because it's the place where I can be myself and try new things that I would never otherwise do. During the summer, you can catch me on a canoe in the water, reading a book in a gazebo, or stargazing on the tennis courts. When I’m not at camp, I’m living in England and studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. I can’t wait to meet you soon in the BSE!!!
jaime gurr - head OF LEADERSHIP
Hi, I’m Jaime, and I’m so excited to be your Head of Leadership this summer!!
Camp is the most magical place in the world, and I can’t wait to return for my fourth summer at Biluim! One of the best parts of Biluim is the emphasis placed on leadership. As Biluimnicks, leadership is paramount. Through different va'adot, Hadracha sessions, and our CIT program (to name a few), this is the summer where you become the leaders of CYJ.
When I’m not at camp, you can find me in the library at McMaster University, where I am working towards a B.a.Sc. in Human Behaviour. When I visit home in Toronto, I’m usually playing with my dog, Queso, listening to true crime podcasts (iykyk), and going for walks in the park. Oh, and talking about camp (everything is camp!).
I can't wait to meet you all and introduce you to the place I call home!!
Jacob ‘guatey’ katz - head of Waterfront
Hey guys! My name is Guatey and I will be your Biluim Head of Waterfront. I’ve been at camp for 3 years as a staff member and 11 years as a camper. Over the course of the year, I work as a lifeguard and MC. I currently attend TMU and am in my second year in the creative industries program. At camp I love the waterfront, playing basketball, board games, and coaching BFL! Camp to me is a place where everyone can be themselves and enjoy life to the fullest. I can’t wait to meet everyone next summer!
